Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Dental Hygienists Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body


Experience: 5 years or more


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Specialty dental practice


Dental Hygienist Specific Skills: Conduct initial dental assessments and consult with dentists on patient care, Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene, Remove stains and deposits from teeth, Apply fluoride treatment


Dental Therapist Specific Skills: Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene, Remove stains and deposits from teeth, Apply fluoride treatment, Diagnose type and severity of diseases


Security and Safety: Driver's validity licence check


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods


Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence
